Biography
Malik is a Brooklyn-based writer and filmmaker whose work delves into social realism and explores themes of humanity and identity through the intractable triumvirate of race, class, and power. His 2023 feature Öte premiered at the 2023 Tribeca Film Festival. In 2021, he was awarded the Jerome Hill Foundation Artist Grant and the San Francisco Film (SFFILM) Rainin Screenwriting Grant. In 2019 after completing the Sesame Street Workshop. In 2019 he served as a New York Film Festival Fellow at the Artist Academy.
